Tricia McDermott Thompkins, General Counsel at Shoe Show, Inc. manages the footwear retailer’s legal, global trade and compliance functions, supports its 10,000 employees, 1100 retail stores, and various retail holding and logistics subsidiaries. Since joining in February 2021, she has restructured and redefined the Law Department’s strategic purpose.
Previously, Thompkins spent nine years at Perry Ellis International, Inc., most recently as EVP, General Counsel and Secretary where she worked on a reportedly precedential deal leveraging the company’s IP assets and splitting the company into three siloes in a take-private transaction.
In 2021, Thompkins was recognized by Diversity Magazine as one of the Top 50 Women Lawyers, as an IP Star by Managing IP Magazine and as a South Florida Business Journal Influential Business Woman.
Thompkins was appointed in 2020 to the Trademark Public Advisory Committee of the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office by former Secretary of State, Wilbur Ross, serves on Baker & McKenzie’s, Antiracism Legal Impact Board and will serve on the board of the Association for Corporate Counsel, Charlotte, January 2022.
Thompkins earned her B.A. from Rutgers University and J.D. from Rutgers University Camden School of Law.
