Sozi Tulante, an inspiring leader in Dechert’s white collar crime and trials practice, advocates for clients in state and federal trials, as well as in high-stakes internal and government investigations.

Amid a thriving pro bono practice, Tulante has recently represented the NAACP Pennsylvania State Conference in relation to the racial impact of in-person voting during the pandemic and worked on a federal class action lawsuit to protect at-risk prisoners from the spread of Covid-19 in correctional facilities. Previously, as Philadelphia’s City Solicitor, the city’s top lawyer, Tulante led the 200+ lawyers of the Philadelphia Law Department.

Tulante also spent five years as Assistant U.S. Attorney in Philadelphia, where he spearheaded white-collar criminal investigations and prosecutions. Tulante has won numerous recognitions for his legal work.

Most recently, he has been honored as “Best of the Bar” by the Philadelphia Business Journal, ranked as one of “25 Legal Influencers” by the Philadelphia Inquirer, and named one of three finalists for “Attorney of the Year” by the Legal Intelligencer. In 2021, Tulante was recognized by Chambers USA for his standout work in the area of White Collar Crime & Government Investigations.

Tulante holds a A.B. degree and a J.D. from Harvard University.
