Sharon R. Barner is Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Cummins Inc., a global power leader.
Previously, Barner was Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary from 2012 to March 2021.
Prior to joining Cummins, from 2009 to 2011, Barner was Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Deputy Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, where she was responsible for patent and trademark operations.
From 1996 to 2009, Barner practiced law at Foley & Lardner LLP where she held a number of leadership roles, including as a Member of its Executive Management Committee, Chair of its Intellectual Property Department, and Chair of its Chicago Intellectual Property practice area.
Barner holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Syracuse University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School.
