Sam Bright is Vice President and General Manager of Verticals at eBay, a global commerce leader including the Marketplace and Classifieds platforms. Collectively, eBay connects millions of buyers and sellers around the world, empowering people and creating opportunity for all.
In this role, Sam oversees multibillion-dollar business units encompassing art and collectibles, electronics, toys, fashion, home, business and industrial, automotive, and sporting goods. During his seven-year tenure, Sam has led the Strategic Partnerships team for the Americas business, where he established 70+ partnerships with companies including Verizon, Samsung, FedEx, and the US Postal Service. Additionally, he was a deal captain in M&A strategy, leading four transactions in machine translation, local, and India market expansion.
Prior to eBay, Sam was a M&A associate at Merrill Lynch and advised on $10B+ of buyside, sellside, and JV deals across ten semi, internet, and software transactions and deal processes.
Sam serves on the Board of Directors at Benetech and on Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum Advisory Council. He is also an NACD Governance Fellow.
Sam received his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School and his Bachelor of Arts from Taylor University.
