Rosalyn Carpenter is the Chief Diversity Officer for the newly formed CommonSpirit Health™, one of the largest health systems in the United States. CommonSpirit, the merged entity of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, encompasses 800+ care locations, approximately 150,000 employees, and $29.2 billion in revenues.
Carpenter oversees an Office of Diversity & Inclusion in the Office of the CEO which focuses on workforce diversity, health equity and the elimination of healthcare disparities, supplier diversity, and workplace culture.
Carpenter previously served as the Chief Diversity Officer for CHI. Prior to that, she held roles at HealthTrust Purchasing Group and Hospital Corporation of America.
Carpenter also served as the President and CEO, Urban League of Middle Tennessee and the Executive Director at the Metro Human Relations Commission of Nashville and Davidson County. She is a member of the Denver Chapter, The Links Incorporated. She has served in numerous volunteer leadership roles, including the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation Policy Center at Meharry Medical College Advisory Board and National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) Healthcare Industry Chair.
Carpenter has a Bachelor’s degree and an Executive MBA from Tennessee State University.
