Ron Edwards serves as Assistant General Counsel at Nike.
In this role, Edwards provides legal guidance on the company’s quarterly and annual filings with the SEC, manages board committee governance matters, and supports tax, treasury, and accounting functional areas.
Prior to joining Nike, Edwards spent the first 13 years of his legal career as in-house counsel for John Deere, most recently supporting Global Supply Management and the Ag Marketing Division in the US. Over the course of his career at Deere, Edwards held a variety of legal roles in corporate governance and SEC reporting, data privacy, and cross-border and structured finance. He served in multiple business roles, including as Project Manager over operations in Russia, Brazil, and Argentina and as Product & Sales Training Manager for Deere’s financial services division.
Edwards served on the Board of Directors for the Two Rivers YMCA, the Des Moines Symphony, Variety the Children’s Charity, and as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Bethany for Children and Families and Chairman of the John Deere Political Action Committee.
Edwards earned a Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University – Moritz College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan.
