Richard Mark is Chairman and President of Ameren Illinois Companies, where he is responsible for energy delivery to more than 1.2 million electric and 816,000 natural gas customers.
Mark joined Ameren in 2002 as vice president of Customer Service. In 2003, he became vice president of Governmental Policy and Consumer Affairs. In just two short years, he rose to the position of senior vice president of Ameren Missouri Energy Delivery – becoming the first African American to hold this position.
Before his appointment as President of Ameren Illinois in 2012, Mark was senior vice president of Ameren Missouri Customer Operations with responsibility for electric and natural gas distribution.
Mark serves on the boards of Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation, Fontbonne University and the St. Louis Regional Business Council.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Business from Iowa State University.
