Pia Flanagan is Corporate Secretary and Chief of Staff to Roger Crandall, Chairman, President and CEO of MassMutual, a leading mutual life insurance company with over $771 billion in assets under management as of December, 2017.
A member of MassMutual’s Executive Leadership Team, Flanagan works with the CEO on top priorities and maximizes the impact of the CEO’s time and energy on the most crucial issues.
In addition, Flanagan is a key consultant to the company’s Board of Directors, providing strategic advice and counsel on corporate governance matters and Board responsibilities.
Prior to MassMutual, Flanagan was a partner in the New York office of global law firm Baker & McKenzie. Prior to that, Flanagan was an executive compensation and employee benefits attorney for the law firms Coudert Brothers and Morrison Cohen.
Flanagan is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, the Executive Leadership Council and the Greater Springfield Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.
Flanagan received a Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law, Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from New York University School of Law, and Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
