Nikki Lewis Simon is a Litigation Shareholder and Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer at Greenberg Traurig, LLP.
In this capacity, Simon designs and guides strategic initiatives to deepen firm-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Most recently, those efforts included the commitment of $5 million over five years to combat systemic racism and support impoverished communities; instituting billable hours for diversity and inclusion and community and civic activities; design and creation of the Social Justice Action Academy; founding of Courageous Conversations (online forums on race and social justice); and creation of the GTDrives: Dynamic Dialogues Podcast, hosted by Simon.
Other program successes include achieving Mansfield Rule 3.0 Certification in 2020. The program, administered by The Diversity Lab, is designed to boost diversity and inclusion within law fi rms and legal departments. Subsequently, in July 2021, the firm achieved Mansfield Rule 4.0 Certification Plus, indicating it went beyond the original program requirements of considering 30% diverse talent.
Simon, who has more than two decades-plus of experience as a commercial litigator, received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, and her B.A. in Journalism, cum laude, from Florida A&M University.
