Monica R. Sylvain is the Executive Vice President, Chief Diversity Officer at IBERIABANK. In this role, she is the strategic thought leader responsible for the enterprise-wide diversity, equity and inclusion vision for the financial holding company. As an executive team member, Sylvain works alongside leadership to maximize profitability by driving associate engagement, enablement, and excellence at every level of the organization.
Sylvain is active in promoting an inclusive culture and creating environments for inclusive conversation across the company footprint. She partners with business unit leaders on executing strategic initiatives related to attracting, developing, retaining and promoting a diverse workforce.
Prior to joining IBERIABANK, Sylvain served as the founding Executive Director of the Posse Foundation in New Orleans and taught Chemistry at Xavier University.
Sylvain is a Trustee on the board of LCMC Health and is a recipient of the Role Model Award for distinguishing herself by actively contributing to the betterment of the Greater New Orleans area.
Sylvain holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Howard University and earned her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Louisiana State University.
