Michael Thomas is a principal at Jackson Lewis P.C., a preeminent national workplace law firm, where he co-leads the firm’s national Corporate Diversity Counseling practice group.

Understanding that businesses have complex needs related to DEI and ESG, Michael works with clients to balance today’s intricate web of decisions, laws and interests with varying reputational and litigation risk with the often competing demands for transparency.

Michael holds a Diversity and Inclusion Certification from Cornell University and a yoga certification. Michael’s multi-disciplinary approach motivates employers to create workplaces where employees and businesses thrive.

Michael also conducts trainings, and regularly speaks and publishes on DEI.

In March 2024, Michael moderated a panel on inclusive leadership at the South by Southwest conference. Michael’s over 20 years of employment law experience also includes defending employers in class and collective actions.

Michael serves on the Board of Crystal Stairs in Los Angeles, California.

Michael holds a B.A. from Bucknell University, a J.D. from Boston College, and an M.B.A from the University of California at Berkeley.
