Michael I. Elliott is Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System.
In this role, Elliott is responsible for integrating the academic health system’s organizational strategic plan with its operations. Elliott leads efforts to deliver equitable, high-quality, cost-effective and integrated care across the health system’s hospitals and clinics.
Prior to Virginia Commonwealth University Health System, Elliott served as Senior Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer at Centra Health based in Lynchburg, VA.
Elliott completed a Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Science in Health Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy and School of Health Professions.
Elliott is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, serves on the Board of Trustees of Sweet Briar College, serves on the American Hospital Association Community and Population Health Advisory Committee, is an elder at his church “The Hope Company”, and is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Elliott has been married to his wife, Lashelle, for 20 years and they have three children named Christian, Donovan and Evan.
