Maurice Bellan is the Managing Partner of Baker McKenzie’s Washington, DC office and a member of the Global Dispute Resolution and North America Litigation and Government Enforcement Steering Committees. He is a former trial attorney at the US Department of Justice and is experienced in a broad range of fraud and anti-corruption matters.
Bellan represents global companies in the defense industry and regularly conducts internal investigations on behalf of his clients seeking to enhance compliance or mitigate civil, criminal, and regulatory risks. His trial practice generally involve matters concerning the U.S. False Claims Act, breach of government contracts, criminal and civil fraud and constitutional questions involving a variety of federal statutory regulations.
Bellan is a leader and advocate for diversity within his organization and the community and has served as Co-Chair of Baker McKenzie’s Anti-Racism task force as well as a member of the fi rms Racial Impact Board which is a joint committee of clients and partners seeking to address unconscious bias and improve diversity in the workplace.
Bellan is a graduate of Howard University and the University of Maryland School of Law.
