Maria Lewis is the Chief Diversity Officer of Faegre Drinker LLP.
In this role, Maria provides vision and leadership to instill and develop a firm culture that builds, values, and supports diversity, equity, and inclusion. Maria oversees the creation and implementation of programs that address workplace culture; recruiting, retaining, and developing diverse talent; collaborating with clients and the community on diversity initiatives; programming that addresses pipeline programming; and diversity-related media messaging.
Maria has a long career as an employment litigator, and she continues to counsel clients on workplace issues, including providing litigation strategies to defend discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims; managing internal investigations; and conducting management and employee training on diversity, cultural competency, implicit bias, and inclusive leadership.
Previously, Maria served as an assistant district attorney at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, where she handled preliminary hearings and trials. Additionally, Maria is an ordained Reverend of the Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church in Philadelphia.
Maria holds a B.A. degree from the University of Pittsburgh Honors College and a J.D. degree from Harvard Law School.
