Mareesa Frederick is Partner at Finnegan LLP, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the world.

Based in the firm’s Washington DC office, Frederick currently serves on the firm’s Management Committee and previously served as the partner-in-charge of Diversity.

Frederick regularly represents domestic and international companies in intellectual property litigation and also provides strategic advice, based on her 20+ years of experience on counseling, opinion, and licensing matters.

Frederick has a specialized expertise litigating high-stakes Section 337 proceedings before the International Trade Commission (ITC), having served as a senior investigative attorney with the Commission for over five years.

In that role, Frederick was involved in a number of patent cases involving a diverse range of technologies, including semiconductors, consumer products, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals.

Frederick has been recognized by The Legal 500 as a leading lawyer for ITC patent litigation.

Frederick received her J.D. from George Washington University Law School, a B.S. degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and B.S. degree from Spelman College (dual degree Engineering program).
