Luis R. Penalver is a former member of the Executive Committee of Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP as well as a former Administrative Partner of the firm.
Luis is a senior partner in Cahill’s corporate practice group.
Luis represents leading investment and commercial banks, institutional investment funds, and corporations in debt and equity securities transactions, bank financings, mergers and acquisitions and out-of-court debt restructurings, as well as public and private companies in connection with general corporate and securities law matters.
Luis is recognized as a notable practitioner in banking and capital markets by Euromoney’s IFLR1000 and listed in Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Lawyers guide and Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Dealmakers guide.
Luis serves on the Board of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund where he serves on the Audit Committee and the Board of Visitors of Columbia College. He previously served on the Board of the Harlem School of the Arts and the Board of the Council of Urban Professionals (CUP).
Luis holds a Law degree from Harvard Law School, an MBA from Harvard Business School and his Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University.
