Lisa Toppin is the Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) for Illumina. She joined the company in September 2020.
In this role, Lisa is responsible for overseeing all Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) efforts, including shaping Illumina’s DEI strategy to evolve the company into a DEI leader, serving as a proactive critical advisor to the Executive Leadership Team, spearheading employee resource groups and the Diversity Council, and fostering a culture of inclusion and fairness across all aspects of Illumina.
Lisa has 20+ years of experience as a human resources executive. She is an industry thought leader and speaker and has been a writing contributor to the Forbes HR Council. In 2018, she was awarded the Women in Business honor by the Charlotte Business Journal and The Walker’s Legacy Power Award, awarded to those who made a difference in the community.
Lisa earned a B.S. in Speech Pathology from Howard University, a B.A. in Psychology from George Washington University, an MS in Industrial Relations/Human Resources from Rutgers University, and an EdD in Human Resources Development from George Washington University.
