Lisa LeCointe-Cephas is Senior Vice President and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer for Merck. LeCointe-Cephas is also the Global Pro Bono Lead and Executive Sponsor of Merck’s League of Employees of African Descent (LEAD) Employee Business Resource Group.
LeCointe-Cephas implements all applicable laws pertaining to the company’s business operations and drives an ethical, values-based corporate culture. She has significant experience building programs with high levels of employee engagement that promote a culture of integrity and compliance.
LeCointe-Cephas previously served as Head of Global Investigations for Merck, where she managed an international team of lawyers responsible for conducting investigations into breaches of company policies, the False Claims Act, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws.
Prior to Merck, LeCointe-Cephas was Lead Government Investigations Counsel for Bristol-Myers Squibb and a Government Investigations and White-Collar Defense Partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP.
LeCointe-Cephas is a member of the Board of Trustees for Morehouse School of Medicine. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Yale University and J.D. from Columbia Law School.
