Lisa Jeffries Caldwell is Executive Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer at Reynolds American Inc. and R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, and the first African-American to rise to that level in the companies’ histories.
In this role, Caldwell is responsible for driving a high performance culture leading to a transformation of the tobacco industry, by driving innovation throughout RAI’s businesses, redefining enjoyment for adult tobacco consumers, reducing the harm caused by smoking, and accelerating the decline in youth tobacco use.
Caldwell reports to the CEO and serves as the management liaison to the Compensation & Leadership Development Committee of the RAI Board of Directors.
Caldwell maintains significant financial responsibilities as well, with $20+ million budgetary accountability, $125+ million fringe budget accountability, and $5+ billion Pension Investment Committee accountability.
Caldwell serves on the Board of Visitors for the Wake Forest University School of Business. Caldwell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill and became a Wake Forest Law Scholar, earning a Juris Doctor from the Wake Forest University School of Law.
