Joseph (Joe) M. Drayton is a Partner in the international ﬁ rm Cooley LLP in its New York City oﬃce. Drayton primarily services leading technology companies.
Drayton has represented Fortune 500 businesses and comparable private companies in intellectual property matters over his 20 years of practice, and he has a track record of success in this ﬁeld.
Drayton’s practice background includes a broad range of intellectual property and complex commercial high stakes, high tech matters in federal court litigation. Drayton served as the President of the National Bar Association, an active leader in the ABA Section of Litigation and an Executive Committee member at the New York City Bar.
Drayton was named a Client Service All-Star by BTI Consulting Group (2016 and 2017) for “delivering superior client service” and was recently named to the IAM Patent 1000 list, a recognition that honors the top patent practitioners in the world.
In May 2017, Drayton received the Private Practitioner of the Year Award from the Metropolitan Black Bar Association of New York City.
Drayton graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and attended the University of Maryland, College Park.
