Jonice Gray is a Partner and Chair of the Consumer Financial Services practice at Paul Hastings. She specializes in work with banks, non-bank financial institutions, and other companies providing financial products and services.
Gray works with many of the largest bank and non-bank financial institutions, emerging companies such as fintechs, and retailers whose business operations include consumer and small business finance.
Gray’s work is focused on high-stakes legal proceedings, including matters initiated by federal and state regulators, private civil litigation, and internal investigations.
Gray also counsels’ clients on compliance with consumer protection laws, and is particularly known for her work as related to fair banking and UDAAP/UDAP.
Gray routinely provides strategic advice to senior corporate leaders, including Boards of Directors, as they navigate complex, and often unexpected, business and legal challenges.
Gray previously served as a judicial law clerk to Marvin J. Garbis (United States District Court for the District of Maryland) and practiced with Skadden Arps. She later became of a founding partner and governing board member with Buckley LLP, which recently merged with Orrick.
