Joia M. Johnson oversees the legal, human resources, corporate social responsibility, real estate and government/trade relations functions at Hanesbrands Inc., a leading marketer of innerwear, outerwear and hosiery apparel with nearly 70,000 employees in more than 40 countries.
Johnson has leadership roles on both corporate and civic boards. She currently serves on the board of Crawford & Company, the world’s largest public independent provider of claims management solutions to insurance companies and self-insured entities. With Crawford, Johnson is a member of the Audit Committee and Chair of the Compensation Committee.
Johnson also serves on the Boards of the Winston-Salem Symphony Orchestra, Reynolda House Museum of American Art, UNC School of the Arts Foundation, and Novant Health, Greater Winston-Salem Market, where she serves as Vice Chair.
Johnson earned her Law degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, her Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and her Bachelor’s degree from Duke University.
