John W. Thompson was Chief Executive Officer of Symantec, the global leader in cybersecurity. During the 10 years of Thompson’s leadership, Symantec grew their revenue from $600 million to $6 billion annually.
Thompson helped transform Symantec into a global leader in internet security, storage and systems management solutions.
Prior to Symantec, Thompson held several leadership positions of increasing responsibility during his 28 years at IBM. Thompson recently retired as CEO of Virtual Instruments.
Thompson is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Wetland America Trust. Thompson also. served on the National Board of Teach for America.
Thompson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Florida A&M University, and a Master’s degree in Management Science from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. Thompson has an Honorary Doctorate degree from the University of Notre Dame, Mendoza College of Business, and Florida A&M University.
