John Lancaster is Vice President for Emerging Markets, Franchise Development & Owner Relationships for Choice Hotel International.
In this role, Lancaster leads Choice’s efforts to extend the opportunity of hotel ownership to underrepresented populations through the company’s one-of-a-kind Emerging Markets Program.
To date, the initiative has supported more than 350 hotel franchise agreements with minority and veteran entrepreneurs. A member of Choice’s CEO Diversity Advisory Board, Lancaster was instrumental in creating the Choice Hotel Owners African American Alliance, the hotel industry’s only franchisee-focused group dedicated to Black and African American hoteliers, as well HERtels by Choice, an initiative focused on increasing female hotel ownership.
Lancaster serves on the boards of trustees of the American Hotel Lodging Association Foundation and the International Franchise Association Foundation, the board of the Boston University School of Hospitality Administration, and the Hospitality Board of Morgan State University.
Lancaster received the “Chairman’s Award” from the National Association of Black Hotel Owners, Operators & Developers in June 2023.
Lancaster attended Howard University.
