John E. Maupin, Jr. was President of Morehouse School of Medicine.
Maupin also serves as Chair of Regions Community Development Corporation, the Company’s non-profit corporation dedicated to providing technical assistance for affordable housing, small business, and community development initiatives.
Maupin has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare administration, public health and academic medicine. Prior to becoming the President of Morehouse School of Medicine, Maupin was President of Meharry Medical College.
Maupin also served in the United States Army Reserves Dental Corp. He is past President of the National Dental Association and has participated as a member of numerous state and national healthcare task forces, scientific panels and advisory councils.
Maupin holds a Bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University, a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the School of Dentistry, Meharry Medical College, and an MBA from Loyola College.
