Jerry Sue Thornton is the Chief Executive Officer of Dream Catcher Educational Consulting. In this role, Thornton heads a firm that provides coaching and professional development for newly selected college and university presidents.
Previously, Thornton was the President of Cuyahoga Community College, the largest
community college in northeast Ohio. Thornton, was recognized by Cuyahoga Community College with the title of President Emeritus, a scholarship and a center bearing her name. Previously, Thornton served as the President of Lakewood Community College in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.
Thornton also participates in a number of civic, educational, health care and other non-profit organizations, being a Board member of the Cleveland Museum of Art, Mandel Foundation, and
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation.
Thornton holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Arts degree from Murray State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.
