Javier Evans is Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer at Webster Bank (NYSE: WBS), a leading commercial bank with more than $70 billion in assets.
In this role, Javier is responsible for the company’s strategic direction and development of the human capital management practices focusing on compensation and benefits, talent management, leadership development, succession planning, DEIB efforts, cultural and organizational development.
Javier previously served as Chief Business Operations and Services Officer at Sterling National Bank, where he directed the operations and service channels of the bank’s commercial, consumer and digital client segments. He also served in executive roles at TD Bank and HSBC Bank, USA.
Javier was honored by the National Eagle Leadership Institute (NELI) for his work in leading the diversity initiatives during his tenure with HSBC USA Bank.
Javier was recognized by Crain’s New York Business as one of its Notable HR Leaders and by the Moxxie Mentoring Foundation as one of its 2023 MoXY award winners for his efforts to advance the careers of women through mentoring.
Javier earned a Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University and an M.S. from New York Institute of Technology.
