James H. Wooten, Jr., was Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Illinois Tool Works, Inc. (ITW).
Previously, Wooten was elected to the position of Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary and was promoted to Senior Vice President. Wooten was responsible for legal, environmental and safety, risk management and governmental affairs, managing an annual legal budget in excess of $40 million dollars. Prior to joining ITW, Wooten was in private practice with Gardner, Carton and Douglas, which is now a part of Drinker, Biddle & Reath LLP.
Wooten currently serves as a Director of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Window to the World Communications, Inc. and Congo Square Theatre. He also serves on the Audit Committee of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
Wooten holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Illinois and a Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago.
