Jack B. Clarke, Jr. is a Partner in the Education Law practice group of Best Best & Krieger’s Riverside, California office.
Clarke joined BB&K immediately after graduating from law school and went on to become the firm’s first African American partner. He continues to make his mark on the community and profession as a leader within and outside of the firm.
Clarke handles litigation concerning education law, special education disputes, public agency matters and more. He has successfully defended school districts and other education clients in student disciplinary matters, civil rights and Constitutional claims, and due process hearings.
In addition to his legal successes, Clarke is widely recognized for his civic contributions. From the Riverside County Bar Association and California Law Business magazine to the NAACP and American Diabetes Association, Jack’s influence as an attorney and human and civil rights advocate is celebrated.
Clarke was the first African American to chair the Greater Riverside Chamber of Commerce and also chaired the Mayor’s Use-of-Force Review Panel. He was recently appointed to the California State University Board of Trustees by Gov. Gavin Newsom.
