Gunther Bright served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Global and U.S. Large Enterprises at American Express from 2020 to 2023. He also served as Executive Vice President & GM of the U.S. Merchant Services business from 2014 to 2020. Prior to this role he was Executive Vice President & GM for the U.S. Consumer Services Division.
With extensive experience at American Express, Bright demonstrated expertise in driving growth and transformation across divisions, managing large-scale client portfolios, and spearheading innovative solutions.
Bright is an Advisor for Varo Money and a member of the Executive Leadership Council.
Bright serves as a board member of Emburse, Junior Achievement of New York and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
Bright received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Pace University and completed an Advanced Executive Management Program at The Wharton School.
