Greg E. Deavens is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Independence Health Group (IHG).
In this capacity, Deavens leads the Company’s financial functions as well as its Actuarial, Underwriting and Enterprise Risk Management organizations.
Prior to joining IHG in 2017, Deavens was employed by Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) where he served as Corporate Controller and as CFO for the U.S. Insurance business.
Prior to joining MassMutual, Deavens held financial roles at NY Life, CIGNA, GE Capital and Price Waterhouse.
Deavens currently serves on the boards of Hartford Healthcare, The Executive Leadership Council and as part of his responsibilities at IHG, on the boards of AmeriHealth Caritas, BCS Financial Corporation, Tandigm Health Solutions, Ameri- Health Assurance (Bermuda) and as Treasurer for the Independence Blue Cross Foundation.
Deavens is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Deavens holds a B.S. in Accounting from Florida A&M University.
