George Nichols III is Executive Vice President for New York Life Insurance Company. In this role, he is in charge of the Office of Governmental Affairs, which includes all State, Federal and International legislative/regulatory and public policy issues for the company, as well as New York Life’s Political Action Committee.
Nichols has an active role in a broad array of company initiatives, including serving as an Executive Sponsor of a best-in-class leadership institute, in close partnership with Human Resources. He reports to the Chairman and CEO of New York Life and is also a member of New York Life’s Executive Management Committee, which is comprised of the company’s senior executive leadership, and he assists the CEO in setting policy for the company.
In his previous role, Nichols served as Senior Vice President and Profit Center Head for New York Life Insurance Company, AARP Tampa Operations, the number one direct marketer of life insurance for people ages 50 plus.
Nichols holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Kentucky University, an Associate of Arts degree from Alice Lloyd College and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Louisville.
