Gaurdie Banister Jr. is the first independent Chair of Russell Reynolds Associates and serves on the boards of Dow and Enbridge. He also serves on the board of trustees of American University in Washington, DC. He formerly served on the boards of Tyson Foods, Marathon Oil and Bristow.
Gaurdie is former CEO of Aera Energy LLC, one of the most successful Oil and Gas Ventures in California and the US.
Gaurdie holds a bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from South Dakota Mines, where he received an honorary doctorate degree in 2007. He received his first honorary doctorate degree in 2002 from Fort Valley State University in Georgia.
Gaurdie is founder and CEO of Different Points of View: a private firm that provides advisory services in leadership and safety. He writes for Corporate Board Member, sits on the board of the Houston Equity Fund, is a Senior Fellow for the Mission Possible Partnership and is an advisor to the World50 Board Excellence Program.
