Eugene A. Woods is Chief Executive Officer of Advocate Health, the third largest nonprofit integrated health system in the United States – created from the combination of Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health.
Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Advocate Health has nearly 150,000 team members serving nearly 6 million patients across 68 hospitals and over 1,000 care locations and offers one of the nation’s largest graduate medical education programs, with over 2,000 residents and fellows across more than 200 programs. Woods is currently a member of the Healthcare Institute, the Becker’s Healthcare Advisory Board, the board of Best Buy, the board of Johnson C. Smith University and the Executive Committee of the Healthcare Leadership Council.
He recently received the National Center for Healthcare Leadership’s 2022 Gail L. Warden Leadership Excellence Award.
Woods holds three degrees from Pennsylvania State University: a Bachelor’s degree in Health Planning and Administration, a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Health Administration and was named an Alumni of the Year by Pennsylvania State University.
