Elke Suber is Assistant General Counsel for Microsoft Stores, where she leads a legal team that supports Microsoft’s physical and online stores worldwide, providing strategic counsel on compliance, real estate, retail, and ecommerce issues.
Suber is the first African-American woman to become Assistant General Counsel at Microsoft. Prior to this role, Elke was lead counsel for Windows Live Messenger, the post-acquisition integration of Windows Live Messenger with Skype, and the copyright attorney for Xbox.
Suber started her career as a law clerk for the Honorable Gary L. Lancaster of the US District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. She also clerked for the Honorable Justin M. Johnson of the Pennsylvania Superior Court.
Suber is past President and Chair of the Board of Directors for the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association. She is the current Chair of the Digital Media and New Technologies Division of the American Bar Association Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries. She is a 2011 Leadership Counsel on Legal Diversity Fellow and was a 2017 Distinguished Alumni of her college, Slippery Rock University.
Suber is a graduate of Slippery Rock University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
