Eddie N. Moore, Jr. is President and Chief Executive Officer at Norfolk State University. Prior to his appointment as President of Norfolk State University, he served as President of St. Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, VA (2011-2012) and Virginia State University in Petersburg, VA (1993- 2010).
In 1990, Moore became the Head of the Department of the Treasury under Governor Lawrence Douglas Wilder. As State Treasurer, he served on over 15 different state boards and authorities with oversight authority for over $20 billion of the Commonwealth’s assets and investment portfolio.
A Vietnam War veteran, Moore served as an officer and received several honors. He was the recipient of the U.S. Army Outstanding Civilian Award, General William E. Depuy and General Brehon Burke Somervell Awards.
Moore holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.
