Dontá Wilson is Chief Retail and Small Business Banking Officer and a member of the executive leadership team for Truist Financial Corporation. Wilson is responsible for leading world-class, distinctive client banking experiences powered by innovative technology and personal service. He leads the retail, small business and premier segments who serve clients through more than 2,100 community banking branches across the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Texas; ATMs; contact centers; and deposit and loan products. Wilson also oversees marketing, client analytics, enterprise client experience strategy, and digital banking, which includes digital sales, transformation, innovation, and strategy.

Wilson has served in various leadership roles during his more than 20-year career with Truist and its predecessor. Most recently, he served as chief digital and client experience officer (2018-2022) and was responsible for digital banking, digital sales, digital transformation and innovation, client experience strategy, intelligent automation, enterprise operations and global services, client experience strategy, client insights and analytics, omnichannel strategy, experience design and research, marketing, sales optimization, corporate communications, culture alignment and activation, Truist Foundation, and fintech investments through Truist Ventures. He was named chief digital and client experience officer in 2018, and he was appointed to the executive leadership team and named chief client experience officer in 2016. Prior to that, he was named group/state president of the Atlanta-based Georgia region in 2014, group/state president of the Alabama region in 2009, and regional president for the Battlefield Northern Virginia region in 2005. He began his career in bank operations in October 1995 while in college.

Passionate about being active in his community, Wilson serves on many nonprofit, education, and community service boards. Currently, he is founder and board member of I Am My Brother’s Keeper inner city mentor program, serves on the board of trustees of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and is on the board of Samaritan’s Feet. He also serves on the board of directors of Signet Jewelers (NYSE:SIG). Wilson is a member of World 50/Executive 50, Executive Leadership Council, Sigma Pi Phi (Boule), and Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc.

Wilson earned his bachelor’s degree in management from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and an MBA from the University of Maryland. He is also a graduate of the Tuck Executive Program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and the Truist Banking School at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
