Dawnita J. Wilson serves as the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion officer at WETA (Greater Washington Educational Telecommunications Association), the leading public broadcasting station in the nation’s capital.

As WETA’s Chief DEI Officer, Dawnita is responsible for developing and leading the organizations multi-year strategy and driving sustainable behavioral and cultural change. As a member of the executive leadership team, Dawnita works closely with WETA’s CEO and other key stakeholders to advance DEI across all programs and services throughout WETA and its subsidiary, NewsHour Productions.

Dawnita has been a successful DEI leader for over 15 years and has worked across multiple industries within Global and U.S. based organizations, including Sodexo, Highmark, UPMC, and others.

As a trusted thought leader and business partner, she has successfully implemented transformational frameworks that have been the catalyst for advancing workplace DEI efforts. Her passion and commitment to her work continues to drive results and make a difference, both internally and externally.

Dawnita holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master’s Degree from La Roche University in Pittsburgh.
