David L. Motley co-founded two enterprises beginning in 2010: The BlueTree Venture Fund, where he currently serves as a Managing Partner, and a real estate development joint venture with Walnut Capital Management. In addition, Motley has played a leadership role for Headwaters SC (acquired by EY in July of 2017); in client acquisition and the establishment of its life science practice. His private company experience includes restructuring governance models, board design and board selection for entities ranging in size from $50 million to over $2 billion.
For the past 15 years, Motley has run the Pittsburgh Inner City Junior Tennis Program, that was recognized by the USTA as the Middle States’ 2014 Community Tennis Association of the Year. An avid golfer, Motley is also a long-term volunteer instructor for the First Tee of Pittsburgh.
Motley holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and is a University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering Distinguished Alumni Awardee, a recognition given to less than one percent of its graduates.
