Cynthia M. Patton serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer, responsible for Amgen’s global privacy and compliance organization. She joined Amgen in 2005, and most recently was a Vice President in Amgen’s law department, responsible for commercial legal activities in the US. Previously, she served as the lead commercial lawyer for the oncology and inflammation business units.
Before Amgen, Cynthia was General Counsel of SCAN Health Plan, a California Health Maintenance Organization. Prior to SCAN, she served as Assistant General Counsel of UniHealth and as a staff attorney in the Division of Enforcement at the SEC. She started at Atlanta-based Alston & Bird before moving to Los Angeles to work in law fi rms specializing in healthcare corporate and securities law.
Cynthia has served as a Board Member of Watts Healthcare Corporation and Eisner Pediatric and Family Medical Center. She is the Chair of the Amgen Foundation. She is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Wildwood and Westside Neighborhood Schools, and a Board Member at The Los Angeles Music Center.
Cynthia received her Juris Doctor from George Washington University and her Bachelor’s degree from Vassar College.
