Cynthia M. Patton is General Counsel and Secretary of Verily Life Sciences where she oversees the privacy, legal and government affairs functions.
Prior to Verily, Patton was the SVP and Chief Compliance Officer for Amgen, Inc. At Amgen, she set the strategy for global privacy, trade, and healthcare compliance. Before joining Amgen, Cynthia served as General Counsel of SCAN Health Plan. While at SCAN, she built the law and risk management programs.
Prior to joining SCAN, Cynthia worked as an associate mergers, acquisitions, and securities lawyer at law fi rms in Atlanta and Los Angeles. Patton recently joined the board of Organon & Co. and sits on the audit committee.
Patton is dedicated to the development of diverse talent and giving back. She previously served as Chair of the Amgen Foundation and is a board member for the Ethics and Compliance Initiative, Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Music Center, Vassar College, Wildwood School, and The National Association for Law Placement Foundation.
Patton received her J.D. from George Washington University and her undergraduate degree from Vassar College.
