Courtney Peterson is Vice President, Chief Diversity Officer, and Chief Human Resources Officer at Edison Electric Institute (EEI), the trade association that represents all U.S. investor-owned electric companies, including most electric utilities in the Fortune 500.

An accomplished executive and diversity/inclusion and human resources leader, Courtney provides executive leadership to EEI’s industry-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) strategy and practice area, also overseeing EEI’s 40-year-old business/supplier diversity program. She also drives engagement with EEI’s member company chief human resources officers. Courtney leads EEI’s internal human resources / DE&I strategy and operations.

Courtney serves in an in-kind role as Chief Administrative Officer for the Center for Energy Workforce Development (CEWD) and is also on the Advisory Council for the National Utilities Diversity Council (NUDC).

Courtney is a people champion, an International Coaching Federation (ICF) certified leadership and executive coach, trained diversity practitioner and certified mediator. Courtney is also on the faculty at Georgetown University in the School of Continuing Studies, teaching in the master’s degree program in Human Resources Management.
