Clarence Nesbitt is the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of THINK450, the for-profit subsidiary of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA).
Nesbitt provides business advice and counsel to the senior leadership team and the Board of Directors, sets legal strategy and directs all in-house legal work.
Prior to this role, Nesbitt held the position of General Counsel of the NBPA, the labor union that represents the National Basketball Association’s current players. He started his career in sports by spending nearly a decade working for NIKE, both at its World Headquarters in Oregon and its European Headquarters in the Netherlands.
Nesbitt started his legal career as a M&A associate at international law firm Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York City.
Nesbitt is also presently an appointed White House Commissioner on the Presidential Advisory Commission on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Black Americans, serves on the Board of Trustees for the Central Park Conservancy and the Black Entertainment & Sports Lawyers Association, and is a venture investor as well as an investor in Broadway theatrical productions, including a 2023 Tony Award winning play.
