Christopher A. Lewis is a Partner at Blank Rome LLP and serves as the firm’s emeritus Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. He focuses his practice on energy and public utility law.
Lewis also represents state officials and administrative agencies in high-stakes litigation, including representing the Governor of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Department of Education in landmark litigation concerning the constitutionality of the way Pennsylvania funds its public schools.
In addition to his legal practice, from 2011 through 2019, Lewis aligned Blank Rome’s diversity goals with its business strategies, increased the complement of minority attorneys at the firm, and led the firm’s recruitment and retention initiatives for diversity.
Lewis served as Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania from 1989-1991 and as Executive Deputy General Counsel for the Governor of Pennsylvania from 1987-1989. Mr. Lewis has served as Chair of the Judicial Conduct Board of Pennsylvania, and recently chaired the Philadelphia Energy Authority.
Lewis is a 1975 graduate of Harvard College, B.A. in Government, magna cum laude, and a 1978 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, J.D., magna cum laude.
