Carlos M. Brown is Vice President and General Counsel of Dominion Energy, Inc. Previously, he practiced law at Brown Martin PC and McGuireWoods LLP.
In 2015, Brown was appointed by the governor of Virginia to the Commonwealth Transportation Board. He is a member of the Boards of Directors of the Richmond Metropolitan Transportation Authority, where he served as Chair; FeedMore Inc., where he serves as Vice Chair; and the Dominion Energy Credit Union. He also serves as the Chair of the Dominion Energy African American Resource Group.
Brown has served on the Boards of Christopher Newport University and Boaz and Ruth as well as the 2017 transition team of Governor-Elect Ralph Northam. In recognition of his work in the community, Brown was recognized as a 2017 Leader in the Law by Virginia Lawyers Weekly and as a Richmond Style Weekly Class of 2006 Top 40 under 40.
Brown received his bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of Virginia where he was an Echols and Hardy Cross Dillard Scholar. He is married to Tamara Charity-Brown, M.D., and they have four children: Carlos Jr., Charity, Chelsea and Cari.
