Carla Vernón is a Corporate Officer and President of the Natural & Organic Operating Unit of General Mills. She leads the financial and environmental stewardship strategy for the $1 billion portfolio of brands, including Annie’s, Cascadian Farm, EPIC, and Muir Glen. Under Carla’s leadership, General Mills became the second largest producer of branded organic foods in North America.

 

Known for her business and culture transformation, Carla led turnarounds on billion-dollar businesses, including Cheerios, Yoplait and Nature Valley. Carla has been on the Corporate Strategy and Mergers and Acquisition teams at General Mills. In 2018, she was recognized as one of the five of “Top Latinas in Business” by The Alumni Society.

 

Carla has served on the national board of directors for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the advisory board for the Wisconsin School of Business.

 

Carla is a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute. Prior to General Mills, Carla worked for U.S. Senator Carol Moseley-Braun and The Nature Conservancy.

 

Carla received her Bachelor’s in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Princeton University and an MBA from the University of Texas, Austin.
