Byron L. Boston is Chairman and CO-CEO of Dynex Capital, Inc., a leading asset manager with nearly $10 billion in real estate-related assets.
Since joining the company in 2008, Mr. Boston and his team have built Dynex into a top-performing REIT with industry-leading returns that have outperformed major indexes, including the S&P 500 Financials.
Previously, Boston led the initial public offering for Sunset Financial Resources, a mortgage REIT specializing in high-quality residential and commercial loans, and later guided the successful sale of the company to private equity.
Byron is on multiple boards in advisory and leadership capacities, including the Mortgage Bankers Association and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (“NAREIT”) Advisory Board of Governors.
Boston holds an A.B. in Economics and Government from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
