Ava E. Lias-Booker a seasoned trial and appellate lawyer, partner, leads McGuireWoods’ Baltimore litigation practice with three decades of experience representing businesses in complex commercial and civil litigation.

Among her leadership roles, she chairs the fi rm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and serves on the Diversity Action Council and Associates Committee. She also is the former managing partner of McGuireWoods’ Baltimore office.

Lias-Booker’s dedication to providing excellent client service is matched by her passion for mentoring lawyers and serving Baltimore’s legal and civic communities, the state and the nation. She serves as a member of the board of directors of University of Maryland Saint Joseph’s Medical Center, and sits on the boards of visitors of Duke University School of Law and the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law (emeritus), and is a former member of the boards of directors for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the Baltimore Open Society Institute.

Among her numerous honors, Lias-Booker has been recognized in the Best Lawyers in America, Legal 500 United States and Chambers USA. Lias-Booker received a Women, Influence & Power in Law Award from Corporate Counsel magazine.
