Arthur R. Collins is Founder and Managing Partner of theGROUP, a government relations and strategic communications consulting firm based in Washington, D.C.
Prior to founding theGROUP, Collins was Chairman and CEO of Public Private Partnership, Inc., which he established in 1989. He led the company’s multifaceted practice that counseled corporate, government, nonprofit and political clients.
Collins also served as a Senior Political Strategist for the 2008 Obama for America presidential campaign.
Collins serves as Vice Chair of the Brookings Institution Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Morehouse School of Medicine Board of Trustees.
Collins is a graduate of Florida A&M University’s School of Business and Industry; Collins was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University in 2009. He has studied at the University of Miami School of Law and abroad at the University of Montpellier in Montpellier, France.
