Angela B. Freeman is a Partner and Intellectual Property (IP)/Patent Attorney in the Indianapolis office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP, an Am Law 100 firm.
Angela began her practice as a law clerk while attending evening law school, working full-time, and raising a family.
Recently, Angela became the second Black female elected as equity partner from associate, the first in the firm’s headquarters office, and in their IP department.
With over 15 years as a genetic and clinical laboratory biologist, Angela assists clients in procuring rights worldwide for highly technical subject matter in the food/beverage, agricultural, pharmaceutical, life sciences/biotech, and renewable energy industries.
Angela’s practice also includes agreements and opinions, IP due diligence, and procuring trademark and copyright registrations for her clients.
Importantly, Angela specifically focuses on educating and assisting women, diverse, and small business owners in protecting their IP.
Angela is a recognized diversity champion in the STEM and legal fields. She also hosts an award-winning podcast called The Freedom Forum with Angela B. Freeman, which explores the intersection of business, race, and gender in Indiana.
